Paper Submission
The paper submission will be possible from March 15 to July 25 2012 as well as on-site at the conference. Following the initial review of your abstract we are inviting all authors of accepted abstracts to submit a full paper (min 3 to max 10 pages) for inclusion in the SHC conference proceedings. The proceedings will be published in Energy Procedia, an open-access online platform of Elsevier. All papers published in Energy Procedia feature individual DOI numbers and are therefore fully citable. A limited number of high quality papers will be selected for additional publication in a special edition of the peer reviewed Solar Energy Journal. Passport & Visa Requirements
It is the sole responsibility of all delegates to contact the nearest US embassy or consulate for visa details. Please be sure to allow sufficient time for the application procedure! Payment
The whole payment procedure will be managed by PSE AG. The online encashment is realized in cooperation with a bank security system company (B+S Card Service GmbH) and the security systems “Verified by Visa” (VbV) and “MasterCard Secure Code” (MSC).

Payment is required at the time of registration and should be made in US Dollar only.

Payment is possible by Credit card (Visa, Master (Amex Card on site only)): Attendees should complete the relevant section of the online registration form. Confirmation of conference fee and social program will be forwarded after acceptance of payment by the credit card company for the credit card informed on the registration form.

Payment of on-site registration must be made using a credit card or cash.

Poster Information
Poster layout:

  • Your poster should be upright/portrait style with a maximum size of: US format: width: max. 36 inches, height: max 56 inches or DIN A0 format: width: max. 33 inches (84 cm), height: max. 47 inches (119 cm).
  • Please make sure that letters are sufficiently large to be read from a distance of 1-3 m.

Poster mounting:

  • You are responsible for printing your poster in advance and for putting it up at the conference site. It is not possible to print posters at the conference site.
  • Please mount your poster on Monday, July 09 before the first poster session at 12:30 p.m. Posters can also be mounted during the Pre-Registration on Sunday evening.
  • Mounting material will be provided.
  • Please do not remove your poster before the end of the conference. The posters are an important part of the scientific program and should be displayed the whole time.
  • Please remove your poster on Wednesday, July 11 directly after the closing session. Posters remaining after 6:30 pm will be discarded.
  • How to find the place where your poster should be mounted: In the poster area you will find a map for orientation. In addition, a sign on each poster wall will indicate the author’s name and the poster title. If you have difficulties finding “your” poster board at the conference site, please contact one of our staff members and we will be happy to assist you.

 

Pre-Registration
Pre-registration will be possible on Sunday, July 8, from 6-8pm.

 

Proceedings
Elsevier will publish the SHC 2012 Conference proceedings in their renowned Energy Procedia. This collaboration will provide optimum visibility of the proceedings and ensure that the authors’ publications remain traceable and citable. Final online papers will contain linked references, XML versions and DOI numbers. All papers published in Energy Procedia will be accessible on sciencedirect.com.
A selection of high quality papers from the SHC 2012 proceedings will be published in Elsevier’s peer reviewed Solar Energy Journal, the most renowned peer reviewed journal devoted exclusively to the science and technology of solar energy applications and the official journal of the International Solar Energy Society.
Acceptance of the abstract does not guarantee acceptance of the paper for the proceedings. All papers need to follow the Elsevier guidelines and will therefore be subject to a separate review process.

Public Transportation
A public transport network is operated by the Municipal Transportation Agency (MUNI) The Bay Area Rapid Transit (BART) operates between San Francisco and the other side of the bay. It is also a good option to get to the airport.

Registration
The online registration for the conference as well as the social events will start on March 23, 2012. Please note that payment is only possible by credit card. As a visa application might take several months, please register well in advance to receive the official letter of invitation in time. The online registration will be available until June 27. A registration on-site will be subject to availability and at the door prices.
